Is a portfolio really a portfolio without the obligatory introductory blog post that sits by itself for months at a time?
I love what I do to the core of who I am – working with brilliant minds to make things that exist only in the imaginations of a stranger. Doesn’t that sound like a Saturday morning cartoon you would totally watch?
Through the eyes of each client, I get to learn something new about myself as a creative that I didn’t know before encountering their unique perspective. Each project is an unfulfilled challenge waiting to be solved like a great mystery.
“Wasn’t this about why this site exists? So far the only reason I see is to bore the hell out of people reading this.”
As a Creative Director, it is my job to be always at the ready with ideas for what comes next. Over time, many of these ideas never get a chance to see the light of day. That Other Studio exists as a digital dumping ground for these ideas; the inspiration from everyday life that has not occasioned a client project, the client project pitched but never taking form, an opinion that I feel strongly about, or any other whim of a thought that drives me to action.
I know that there are many sites that let you share your work to immediately get eyes on it; Dribbble, Behance, Coroflot, OnlyFans…the list goes on. Just upload some of your brilliance and strut your stuff* in front of a global stage of your peers. While I see that as very valuable, my goals are less about acceptance and recognition and more about creative expression and the love of making things.
